Enjoy Life – By Matty Angel
-
So I was thinking today… The children and adults both had a pretty sad day yesterday. (First Anniversary of the 2011 Earthquake) I can’t help all the children and adults in Christchurch as much as I would like to, but I can make the ones who walk down the street I live in, especially on the way home from school have a bit of fun and smile!

Awesome! What a fantastic idea. Matty, you sound like a very inspiring person!
MattyAngel, you always make ME smile. I wish it was sunny here today, because I’d love to do something similar on my street!
Wonderful!! I’m going to copy your idea and draw this outside my house early tomorrow morning for the children who walk past. You are such an inspiration.
I love it – clever you!
I hope you had a lovely day 🙂
mmm just thinking if I had to hop on the little desgnated circle thingy’s am sure I would end up on my butt !!!!!!!!!!
Great work Matty love how you are taking your creativity out onto the pavement. Real smile evoking stuff 🙂
I love the way you bring a little bit of joy into other people’s lives like this, Matty. Thank you.

what a wonderful gift. i am waiting for spring to do this for my granddaughter! Thank you!
Love this!! Made me smile just thinking about doing this with and for kids at our bus stop! thanks so much!!
This is such a Great idea!!! I can´t wait to play this with my students…Thanks Matty! keep those ideas coming and good luck with your book! xxx Julie
I need to dig out my chalk and do this for the kids who walk past my house to school – would be fun to see if the lady who does the ‘walking bus’ does it with the kids 😀
Thank you Mattie!
I think every school should have a pathway like that – leading into the school or in the playground. You’re a genius Matty
What a beautiful idea. I’m going to take this and do it in Melbourne. As a mum I find that there aren’t random happy places or kids as when I was young. We don’t have many kids running around playing in the streets which is sad. I’m going to see if this will get more people playing near my place. Here goes for some enjoyment. Thank you for such an inspiring idea
This is a great idea. I work with children on Friday evening at a community fish dinner. Last week, we had a big cardboard box that the kids played with until it was flat. This week, I’m going to cut it apart and write your “action” poem on it — so they can play with the box a bit longer! 3/13/2013
Great activity for large groups.
Thank you Matty. Beautiful. I hope you don’t mind if I share the link to this? It made me smile and I think it will make others happy too. Inspiring.

A wonderful idea Matty.Thank you 🙂
Lovely idea for a fun filled activity.
I want my teacher friends to see this link for kindergartens.
Matty, this is a wonderful idea. I am going to save it on Pinterest. This idea would also be a great premise for a children’s book. I teach Kindergarten and I will use this with my students. Thanks for the smile. By the way, I teach in Crescent City, Florida, USA. You have a long reach. 🙂
This is such a fun, awesome idea! I live on a very busy street and have decide to do this on my sidewalk and see what happens, if I catch anyone doing it. I think my 8 year would love this.
Matty I found this last summer and saved it on my Pinterest. I teach at an elementary school and we would like to do this on our sidewalk outside our school. If you don’t mind us using your idea. We would make note that you are the creator of this. I think this is awesome and so do the teachers that I have shared this with. I love your website and enjoy reading your blogs.
Totally love, love this!!!

[…] Take sidewalk chalk and create instructions that involve different actions. Because my kids can’t read yet, I tried to make symbols that were easy to understand. First, they were to twirl three times, then hop on one foot (or skip). Then, jump, then walk on all fours! To see a more elaborate version (and the inspiration behind this idea) click here. […]
